Placement FAQ

As of August 5th, 2025, Golaem will no longer provide direct support.

All support for Autodesk Golaem will now be handled exclusively through Autodesk support channels and this website will be deactivated.

If you want to edit  the Population Tool Locator configuration after placing particles, you can replace the previously created Particle System and Crowd Field by selecting them in the Create Particle Attributes and, clicking the Replace button. This will preserve the Particle System connections and ppAttributes.

You can also merge a previously created Particle System with current particles by using the Append button.

Placing particles with regular Maya particle tools is possible however particles will neither be created with an initialization direction, an Entity Type Id and a radius, nor generated only in valid zones of the NavMesh.

If you need these information to be set, you should add the corresponding Per Particle Attributes to the particle system and fill their values.

Last but not least, the corresponding Per Particule Attributes Names should be filled in the Crowd Field
