Face To
Result of a FaceTo layout node
The FaceTo node allows to rotate the affected Entities to look at a given target.
Add node
- Drag the FaceTo node icon from the Nodes Library panel and drop it in the Layout Graph Edition panel
- Hit the Tab key in the Layout Graph Edition panel and select the FaceTo option in the dropdown menu that appears

Node parameters
Parameters are accessible by double-clicking on the node in the Layout Graph Edition panel:

Active | Whether the node is active or not |
TargetPosition |
Position of the target to face to This parameter is keyframable, check the page explaining how to handle the keyframes in Maya |
Relative To Barycenter | Whether the target is relative to the barycenter of the group of entities that apply this node, or an absolute position |
Offset | Offset to add on the orientation that face to the target (in degrees) |
Offset Noise | Amount of noise around the offset value (each entity will randomly pick a value between offset - 0.5*offsetNoise and offset + 0.5*offsetNoise ) |
Reference Frame Index |
Reference frame at which the entities will face the target. Other frames will simply use the same orientation offset to avoid any foot sliding on the animation Performance might be affected depending on this value. Check the Layout Editor Performances page for more information. |
Random Seed | Random seed to use to pick an offset value per entity. Changing this parameter will change the distribution of offsets on the entities. |
